According to Mirror, Arsenal are ready to match the release clause of Newcastle United striker (on loan from QPR) Loic Remy in the summer transfer window.
The French international was touted by the media as the next “Thierry Henry” as both share same attacking style. Remy is far from reaching the level of Henry but no one can deny his potential.
Remy has a get-out clause of £8million in his contract that allows him to quit QPR if he wants to. Arsenal can use this to their advantage to lure the French finisher away from QPR/Newcastle United.
Remy has shown good form this season, scoring 13 goals and 2 assists in the premier league for the Toons. He has all the required attributes to be a successful player at Emirates, especially under the guidance of Arsene Wenger. He will also give much needed competition for Olivier Giroud for a place in the starting line-up.
What do you guys think about this? Is Remy an upgrade to Giroud? Post your opinions below,
