Liverpool have been very active in the transfer window, making some new signings and letting go of some players. Jurgen Klopp is rebuilding the team and for that he might show the door to some of the players of Anfield. Kolo Toure, Joao Teixeira have already been released by the club and there are a few players who might leave Liverpool this summer. Joe Allen is one such player who needs to move away from Liverpool.

Joe Allen was signed by Brendan Rodgers from Swansea in 2012. Since coming to the Anfield, Joe Allen has hardly found a place in the starting eleven for the first two seasons. He became a regular on the Liverpool bench, but still did not get enough game time under Rodgers. Last season though, was Allen’s best season in Liverpool colours as Jurgen Klopp took over as Liverpool’s head coach and Allen has seen an upturn in form.

Allen has been in excellent form since the turn of the year. The Welsh international was a regular in Liverpool’s Europa League fixtures. In the Premier League, Allen was not a part of the first eleven, but always had an impact after coming on as a substitute. Allen has carried that form into EURO 2016 and won the man of the match in Wales’ 2-1 win against Slovakia.

Liverpool have the likes of Jordan Henderson, Emre Can and Lucas Leiva in their squad, fighting for a place in the defensive midfield. In the attacking midfield, Liverpool have Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, James Milner and Adam Lallana competing for a place in the starting eleven. Joe Allen, in spite of possessing the talent and quality, could not regularly make it to the first eleven and the game time that he got was far less than what he deserved. And the signing of Marko Grujic has worsened the situation for Allen. Allen will face stiff competition for a place in Liverpool’s midfield and lack of game time might halt his progress. Allen needs proper game time and at Liverpool, it looks very tough.

Allen can attack as well as defend for his team and is an important asset to any team. Even though he has been a crowd favourite, Allen has failed to establish his place in the starting eleven and considering the current situation, it looks tough. Allen has been linked with his former club Swansea City and a move to the Liberty Stadium will be a very good option for him. At Swansea, Allen will become a regular member of the first team. Moving away from Liverpool will help Allen develop more as a player and become a world class midfielder. Liverpool fans will want Allen to stay at the club, considering his performances at the end of the season but for his own betterment, Allen should leave Liverpool.
