Rangers hosted Steve Clarke’s side in the final game of the Premiership season. Alfredo Morelos scored the equalizing goal after the Killies found the opener, but it was to no avail as Eomann Brophy restored the lead with a late penalty.

And with the 1-2 defeat, the Gers’ six-match winning streak came to end and the Ibrox manager wasn’t certainly happy with the result.

The former Liverpool star said, (h/t Rangers News)

I’m disappointed with the outcome of the game. I don’t think Kilmarnock’s general play deserved to beat us today – I think we have beaten ourselves.

On a positive note, Gerrard was happy with the debuts of Andry Firth and Dapo Mebude.

He said, (h/t Rangers News)

He deserves that with is play for the under-18s and the Reserves, and what he has shown in first-team training.

“I’m also pleased for Andy Firth as well getting a debut. Dapo has a bright future – he needs to keep working hard, pushing and hopefully that taste today, he will have a strong pre-season with us and that can be the first of many.”

The Ibrox gaffer also added that there was certain progress in the season and he wants to add quality in the upcoming campaign.

Gerrard on his first managerial stint in Glasgow ended trophyless, yet manifested some progress when compared to the previous season.

The notable moments were the two Old Firm derby wins at Ibrox and the signings of some promising talents in the transfer window.
