The Gers were quite sluggish in the second half compared to the first. In fact, the only goal in the second period came from the feet of substitute Jermain Defoe.

The Light Blues manager commented on the team’s performance following the game. (h/t The Scottish Sun)

“We got the job done early but in the second half we completely dropped our standards and didn’t look like Rangers, either individually or collectively.

“We got sloppy, we kept giving the ball away, kept making mistakes all over the pitch and the second half wasn’t enjoyable for me.”

Gerrard added that he couldn’t recognize his side in the second half.

He also commented on Dundee’s performance as the Gers let the opponents take control at times.

The former Liverpool star also warned the players after such a dreadful display. (h/t The Scottish Sun)

“So I’m really pleased with the first 45 minutes and slightly disappointed with the second-half – but thankfully Jermain Defoe made me feel a little bit better.”

The Light Blues manager said he had protected some important players for Sunday’s Scottish Cup quarter-final against Aberdeen.

The Victory against United continued the 13 match winning streak for the Gers at Ibrox.
