Jermain Defoe scored the only goal of the game, which saw the Light Blues scramble past the finish line.

In the process, the Gers goalkeeper received a red card for an unnecessary kick at Hibs player McNulty.

The Ibrox boss was in dismay as his side struggled throughout the game.

Following the game, Gerrard told, (h/t Rangers News)

“We never played well today – I thought it was average at best. But it is a good sign I suppose if you are still winning when you are not playing well.

The former Anfield star also said there were positives like Defoe’ goals and another clean sheet, yet regrets the cumulative performance.

He also pointed out such acts of indiscipline have cost them a lot throughout the season.

“But, I am going away today thinking these performances and these moments of indiscipline have cost us throughout the season.

McGregor and Alfredo Morelos have shared seven red cards and four ban spells between them this season, a ridiculous stat for any team and a player.

Gerrard also added it was pointless in defending the goalkeeper’s moment of madness.

He also spoke about turning to Ross McCrorie for keeping the gloves.

The reason I went for Ross McCrorie is him being around a goalkeeper for most of his life in his brother, he was the best choice out there at the time.

The Light Blues have picked up their fourth win in a row after suffering a period out of form.

Now, they look to extend their winning run against Celtic in the Old Firm derby this week.

The Hoops, who recently clinched the league title, ended up the winners in the previous derby.

The Colombian striker Morelos is expected to make his return this week after a little lay-off, owing to suspension.
