Predicted Leicester City Lineup To Face Watford In The Premier League

Leicester City will host Watford this Saturday after emerging victorious in the mid-week FA Cup clash against Fleetwood. The win will undoubtedly provide them with a confidence boost, even more so after their solid display against Chelsea. The Foxes are currently 8th in the league and are 5 points ahead of 10th-placed Watford. A win will prove to be crucial for Claude Puel’s side as they embark on their quest to secure a top-six finish.

Team News

Robert Huth’s inclusion continues to be uncertain whereas Puel is unlikely to hand Fousseni Diabate a start. Jamie Vardy made a substitute appearance against Fleetwood and he is expected to start against Watford. Danny Simpson and Wes Morgan continue to be out but they are edging closer to a return.

Possible Leicester City XI To Face Watford

Formation: 4-4-2

Manager: Claude Puel

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

Schmeichel has been a constant for Leicester in goal and he will essay his usual role against Watford.

Daniel Amartey (RB)

Amartey was quite effective against Chelsea when it came to shutting down attacks on the right-hand side and that should see him start against Watford as well.

Aleksandar Dragovic (CB)

Dragovic is clearly working hard and that is evident on the field. He does have a lot of room for improvement but given the current injury crisis, Puel is expected to hand him a start.

Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire (CB)

Maguire has been a figure of stability at the back for Leicester and he was impressive in the game against Chelsea as well. Hence, he is likely to start on Saturday.

Christian Fuchs (LB)

Ben Chilwell looked rather nervy against Chelsea and got sent off eventually. Fuchs put in a strong display in the FA Cup tie and that could see him start this game with full confidence.

Marc Albrighton (LM)

Albrighton’s energetic displays on the left have become quite crucial for Leicester and he is expected to make it to the XI on Saturday.

Wilfred Ndidi (CM)

Ndidi is a naturally combative midfielder and boasts of impressive distribution skills. He has become one of Leicester’s finest and that should see him start this weekend.

Vincente Iborra (CM)

Iborra put in an impressive display against Fleetwood and he is known to work well with Ndidi. Since Matty James limped off against Chelsea, Iborra could start against Watford.

Jamie Vardy

Riyad Mahrez (LM)

Mahrez seems to have regained his lethal form and was influential against Chelsea as well as Fleetwood. He is a crucial aspect of Leicester’s good fortune and Puel will need him to be at his best when the Hornets pay a visit.

Shinji Okazaki (SS)

Okazaki is an unselfish player and he was quite generous in terms of supplying the attack against Chelsea. He did not start against Fleetwood, which makes it likely that he may start here.

Jamie Vardy (CF)

Vardy will be looking to get his name on the scoresheet after a string of decent performances up front.
