With the Premier League a week away, it is time for those final touches before every team gets set for a tough season. Liverpool are one of the teams that have been extremely busy in the transfer market with a host of new players coming in and a few more are expected to leave the club. There is added pressure on Brendan Rodgers more than ever to deliver and he only has one more game before he finalizes the team for the first game against Stoke City on the 9th of August.
Liverpool face HJK Helsinki and have a chance to check out a few players before the main league campaign begins. The club have had a decent pre-season and we predict the starting line-up of the Reds for the game.
Simon Mignolet
The Belgian was Liverpool’s best player last season, especially in the second half and unless he has a stinker in goal, he should start the game against Stoke City in a few days.
Joe Gomez
The youngster has impressed many with his ability to play in almost any position in the back four and he could be the one who plays as the left-back when the season starts.
Martin Skrtel
Skrtel was probably the best defender Liverpool had last season and it will be a major boost for them to see the Slovakian sign a new deal and stay with the club.
Mamadou Sakho
It will be a tough decision to make between Lovren and Sakho but the French defender should get the nod ahead of the Croatian for this game.
Nathaniel Clyne
The right-back role has seen a a major upgrade on Glen Johnson and there is no doubt he can provide the much needed support down the right that Liverpool have needed for a long time.
Jordan Henderson
The new captain needs to ensure he provides Liverpool with a lot of positivity coming from the midfield, especially when it comes to playing along with new signing Milner.
James Milner
It can’t be anyone else apart from Milner who starts for Liverpool, he has shown just what he can do in midfield and should play with Henderson come the start of this game and from next season.
Philippe Coutinho
Coutinho will have more pressure thrust upon him to perform and help Liverpool get back to the Champions League this season.
Roberto Firmino
The big money signing could get a chance to showcase his talents when linked with Coutinho. Firmino does need more time to settle in but a friendly could be the best way to judge his role in the team.
Adam Lallana
This is the time for Adam Lallana to shine, without Sterling, a lot of pressure falls on the attacker and he needs to prove himself to the Liverpool faithful.
Danny Ings
With the new signing of Benteke, Rodgers has a problem but a good one, should he play with the big Belgian or the young Englishman who seems to be getting better as the games go by?
