Nicolas Gaitan’s potential move to Manchester United still continues to headline various articles by several media outlets. However, Portuguese publication O Jogo correctly pointed out on Wednesday that these speculations need to be put to rest as nothing has materialized till now and will not be happening anytime soon.
Although several other reports say that the 27-year old Argentine winger is convinced that he will be playing for the Red Devils this summer and is waiting for the move to happen. The player apparently had a farewell game against New York Red Bulls, which did not go as per plans and the newspaper feel that based on his reaction during the game, it seems that Gaitan is set to leave the club now.
Also, it was being claimed that the Premier League giants and Benfica have agreed a €30m(£21m) deal for the Argentine international.
Super-agent Jorge Mendes is said to be looking to push a deal through, though reports from Portugal say that Gaitan’s move to England is being delayed as Louis van Gaal’s side are still waiting for Di Maria to leave.
