Premier League Young Player of the year possible nominees: Liverpool fans must be happy

The Premier League is home to some of the biggest players in the World. This year we had Diego Costa and Alexis Sanchez join the league and increase its star quotient but there has always been an eye on the young talent in the Premier League.

The Premier League has produced a good crop of young players and we are here to look at those players (below the age of 21) who have risen to high ranks this season and look set for a bright future ahead. Without much ado, here is the list of the top 3 young players of the year in the Premier League.

Harry Kane

Harry Kane - Tottenham

Could this list ever be complete without the striker? The player who has risen from almost nothingness at Tottenham a couple of years ago to the best striker in terms of stats at least in England.

The 21 year old has been brilliant for Spurs and is an old fashioned forward who loves to run and chase the ball, he has great finishing ability and loves to defend from the front. His 19 goals and 3 assists speaks for itself and he could easily win the Premier League young player of the year award.

Raheem Sterling

It might seem that the Liverpool winger isn’t young enough to feature on this list, he has been on this list earlier as well but he is just 20 years old and even if he has had a rather average season, he still has been one of the best players for Liverpool and certainly one of the best young players out there.

Sterling has scored 6 times in the league and has created 7 goals for the Reds this season, there might be an impasse over his contract with the Reds, but they would be hoping to conclude all those formalities as soon as possible to ensure they still retain this star’s services for the foreseeable future.

Emre Can

Another Liverpool player, this time around last year no one really knew much about the German, but by the second half of the season everyone was trying to find out just how to pronounce his name. Can has been a revelation for the Reds in defence and even though that is not his preferred position, he has looked every bit as a Premier League veteran.

The midfielder is big, strong and good on the ball, plus he can defend and pass the ball when needed. For just £10 million, he could be the bargain of the season as well as the young player of the season.
