Premier League team of the Week – Matchday 4

As the international break dawns upon the football world, it proved to be another wonderful weekend of Premier League football. Liverpool and Chelsea continued their march to the top while Watford also joined them after picking up a resounding victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United returned to winning ways against Burnley while Arsenal made it back to back wins under Unai Emery. At the bottom of the table are West Ham United, who will be concerned after losing all four games so far. Burnley and Newcastle United are also languishing in the relegation zone and will be aiming to make quick amends.

Here we take a look at the best players of the week as matchday 4 concluded.

Team of the week

Rui Patricio (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

The Portuguese international made a number of vital saves to keep Marko Arnautovic and Felipe Anderson at bay. Patricio kept an important clean sheet as well.

Jose Holebas (Watford)

The Greek international provided both the assists for Watford’s win over Tottenham Hotspur. He is proving to be a gem from set-pieces.

Joe Gomez (Liverpool)

Gomez didn’t put a foot wrong in the entire game against Leicester City and ensured Liverpool saw out another win.

Craig Cathcart (Watford)

Cathcart scored the deciding goal for Watford against Tottenham Hotspur. He was defensively solid as well.

Kyle Walker (Manchester City)

Walker scored his first goal for the club with a sublime long-range effort. He showed great composure and tracked back seamlessly.

Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Hazard was a menace against Bournemouth and once again scored a goal against the Cherries. The Belgian just loves facing Eddie Howe’s men.

Jean Michael Seri (Fulham)

Another dominant performance from Seri in the middle of the park, and he picked up an assist as well.

Will Hughes (Watford)

The midfielder played a huge role in the midfield for Watford against Tottenham. Will’s dribbling often threatened the Spurs backline and the youngster was immaculate with his passing as well.

Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

Mane continues to shine in what could be his most productive season to date. The Senegalese international handed the Foxes a torrid time at the back.

Aleksandar Mitrovic (Fulham)

Mitrovic is starting to repay Jokanovic’s faith after scoring another goal this week against Brighton.

Aleksandar Mitrovic

Troy Deeney (Watford)

A captain’s delight from Troy Deeney who scored the equaliser against Tottenham Hotspur. He was a pest in the Tottenham penalty box and seemed determined to come away with the win.
