Predicted Wolves Lineup To Face Brentford In The EFL Championship

Despite suffering a home defeat against Cardiff last time out in the Championship, Wolves’ excellent start to the campaign continued in midweek when a much-changed side ran out 2-0 winners away to Premier League side Southampton.

This weekend sees them head to Brentford in what looks a tough enough trip but a winnable one for the side which has already recorded wins at Derby County and Hull City on the road this term. Nuno Espirito Santo may go into this one with a 3-4-3 formation looking something like this:

Manager: Nuno Espirito Santo

Formation: 3-4-3

GK – John Ruddy

An inspired signing in among all the big money deals, solid between the sticks and bound to start again.

CB – Roderick Miranda

The Portuguese defender has made a very good start to life at Molineux and can carry on here, potentially looking after Jota as well as others.

Conor Coady

CB – Conor Coady

This is another switch for the former midfielder, first of all becoming an attacking right-back and now a fully fledged card-carrying member of the defenders’ union.

CB – Willy Boly

The third member of what now looks like a nicely settled back three. Danny Batth’s goal in midweek is a timely reminder of the strength in depth the club have in this position and it is a welcome sign.

RWB – Matt Doherty

Looking much better on his natural side rather than covering at left-back which he did for chunks of last season.

LWB – Barry Douglas

The Scot has already shown that he has an eye for goal. So getting forward from this position to help out the forward men does not seem to be a problem.

CM – Ruben Neves

Justifying his fee now, Neves looks like true quality and will be a Premier League player before long, one way or the other.

Ruben Neves

CM – Romain Saiss

Quietly getting the job done. Others will come into contention but for now he may keep his place in the league.

RW – Ivan Cavaleiro

The Portuguese winger may be given a chance to start again, just like he did at St. Mary’s in the cup tie.

LW – Diogo Jota

One of a fleet of classy Portuguese forwards at the club, Jota has made a good start and can carry on that work with a strong performance here.

ST – Leo Bonatini

A scorer last time out in the league, the Brazilian should once again lead the line at Brentford and could end up being the difference between the sides at Griffin Park.
