Predicted West Bromwich Albion Lineup To Face Stoke City In The Premier League

West Bromwich Albion will welcome Mark Hughes’ Stoke City to the Hawthorns this Sunday, in match-week three of the Premier League.

The Baggies have had a splendid start to the new season and have won all their fixtures so far, with 1-0 victories over Bournemouth and Burnley in the league followed by a 3-1 triumph against Accrington Stanley in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night. Manager Tony Pulis will be hoping that his team continue their winning streak against the Potters.

Team News

Striker Hal Robson-Kanu is unavailable as he serves his three-match suspension after picking up a red card in the win over Burnley. Doubts continue to linger over the availability of club captain Jonny Evans (Hamstring) and midfielder Claudio Yacob (Hamstring), while veteran centre-back Gareth McAuley (Thigh) is certain to sit out.

Manager: Tony Pulis

Formation: 4-5-1

Ben Foster (GK)

The Englishman was benched for the midweek win but will start against the Potters, with Boaz Myhill making way.

Allan Nyom (RB)

The 29-year old Cameroonian has looked solid so far in the new season and will keep his place at the right-back position.

Craig Dawson (CB)

With Evans and McAuley still unavailable, Craig Dawson will continue to feature at the heart of the defence. Has deputised very well so far. Another solid performance can be expected.

Craig Dawson

Ahmed Hegazy (CB)

The Egyptian has settled in very well since joining in on loan from Al Ahly. Will partner Dawson in the Baggies’ backline.

Chris Brunt (LB)

The 32-year old was rested for the cup tie on Tuesday night, but should be reinstated to the starting setup on Sunday, at left-back.

Matt Phillips (RM)

The 26-year old is a big threat for West Brom while going forward with his pace. Having scored against Stanley, his confidence will be high.

James Morrison (CM)

Made his return from injury on Tuesday and looked like he had never been sidelined. Should be retained in the starting XI by Pulis.

Matt Phillips

Gareth Barry (CM)

The veteran midfielder joined only last week and is already showing what he can bring to the team. A definite starter in the middle of the park.

Jake Livermore (CM)

The former Hull City man did not feature from the kick-off on Tuesday night, but should come into the playing XI against Stoke.

James McClean (LM)

Deputised at left-back against Stanley, McClean will take his place in a more advanced role on the left flank on Sunday.

Jay Rodriguez (ST)

The new signing scored his first goal for the club in Tuesday’s 3-1 victory. Will continue to spearhead the attack.
