Watford will welcome Premier League newbies Brighton & Hove Albion to the Vicarage Road for match-week three, on Saturday afternoon.
The Hornets have had a decent start to life under new boss Marco Silva and currently occupy 4th place in the Premier League table, with 4 points in 2 games – a 3-3 draw against Liverpool, followed by a 2-0 win over Bournemouth. However, they come into the clash on the back of a 3-2 loss at the hands of lower league opponents Bristol City in the EFL Cup, and the manager will be hoping to bounce back against the Seagulls.
Left-back Jose Holebas is set to miss out on Saturday, after being shown a red card on Tuesday night. Fellow defenders Daryl Janmaat and Younes Kaboul too are unavailable due to injuries, along with midfielder Roberto Pereyra.
The Brazilian shot-stopper is the undisputed No.1 at the Vicarage Road and will keep his place between the sticks for Saturday.
With Daryl Janmaat still unavailable, the 26-year old summer signing will start his third game running at right-back position.
The giant Austrian will hold fort in the heart of the defence and will look to minimise the threat of Seagulls striker Glenn Murray.
The 26-year old spent a lot of time on the sidelines in the past year. Will want to start the new season on a strong note.
With Jose Holebas ruled out, we could see Uruguayan defender Miguel Britos shift to the left-back position.
The former Chelsea man has shown that he can be a crucial player for the Hornets as the season progresses. Should start in midfield.
The 24-year old Frenchman is another player who has started off the season well. Will sit as the deepest of the three central midfielders.
The former Tottenham man has scored in the last two games for the Hornets. And he deserves to be given a start ahead of Tom Cleverley.
The summer import from Brazil has hit the ground running for Watford. Scored in the league win against Bournemouth last weekend and will be a threat to Brighton.
The club captain is fit again and started the cup tie against Bristol City on Tuesday. Should be retained in the starting XI by the manager.
The club-record signing can play on the left-flank and cut inside to pose a threat. Marco Silva might look to explore this avenue in order to fit Deeney and him together in the same playing XI.
