Pochettino To Make 3 Changes – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Line-Up To Face Swansea

Predicted Tottenham Line-up To Face Swansea City In The Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur will look to continue their winning ways when they take on bottom feeders Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday.

The Lilywhites come into the game on the back of two impressive wins – a 3-0 win over Burnley, followed by a 5-2 thrashing of Southampton on Boxing Day. Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that his team continue in the same way against the Welsh outfit on Tuesday and put some pressure on the teams above them in the Premier League standings.

Spurs currently sit 6th in the table, with 37 points from 20 games, 4 points below Liverpool who occupy the last of the UEFA Champions League qualifying spots. The last time the two sides met at the Wembley, the Swans managed to hold Tottenham to a goalless draw.

Team News

Striker Harry Kane is set to be available for the clash on Tuesday, despite doubts over his involvement owing to an illness. Midfielders Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama face late fitness tests to determine their availability, while defensive mainstay Toby Alderweireld remains sidelined.

Here’s how the North Londoners could take the field at the Liberty on Tuesday:

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Hugo Lloris (GK)

Made two very uncharacteristic errors in the win over Southampton. Will look to bounce back from that and keep a clean sheet.

Kieran Trippier (RB)

The former Burnley man should return to the starting line-up in place of Serge Aurier, after sitting out of the previous two games against the Saints and Burnley.

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

The Colombian defender has been a reliable presence at the back for the Lilywhites and should continue to feature in the heart of the defence.

Jan Vertonghen

Jan Vertonghen (CB)

The Belgian is a rock at the back for the North London outfit. A leader of the defence, he will partner Sanchez against the Swans.

Ben Davies (LB)

The Welshman should get the nod against his former club on Tuesday, ahead of Danny Rose.

Eric Dier (CM)

Looks much more at home in the midfield role than in defence. Should feature in the middle of the park from the start.

Harry Winks (CM)

The youngster could find himself in the starting XI on Tuesday, with Mousa Dembele a doubt due to a hip problem.

Christian Eriksen (RW)

On the right-hand side of the attack, Danish international Christian Eriksen is expected to keep his place in the starting XI.

Dele Alli

Dele Alli (CAM)

The England international scored a goal and registered two assists in the win over Southampton. Will want to build on that performance on Tuesday.

Son Heung-Min (LW)

The South Korean star has been one of the most consistent performers for the North London outfit this season. A definite starter on the left-hand side.

Harry Kane (ST)

The England international has scored two hat-tricks in his last two appearances. Having recovered from an illness, he is likely to start at the Liberty, ahead of former Swansea man Fernando Llorente.
