With almost all of Europe’s top flight seasons coming to an end, UEFA have announced the Champions League draw pots for next season. Premier League clubs Arsenal, who will take part in a qualifying round before confirming their presence in next year’s Champions League and this year’s semi-finalists Chelsea have been drawn together in Pot 1.
Elsewhere, Liverpool who finished second in the Premier League and will make a return to the European competition for the first time since 2009, have been placed in pot 3 alongside the likes of Leverkusen, Sporting Lisbon and Ajax. It is also said that Liverpool will almost certainly be playing in a group which would anyone of the Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.
