Pep Or Jose? Who Should Be Manchester United’s Next Manager?

Share

Two of the greatest managers in the modern time of football are set to look for new jobs next season but in contrasting circumstances. While Pep Guardiola announced that he is set to leave Bayern Munich as his contract is set to end at the club this season and could lead them to a third Bundesliga title in a row, Jose Mourinho was sacked in his second stint at Chelsea after leading his team to a woeful start in the Premier League despite winning the title last season.

Both managers have an incredible pedigree and could manage any top team in the world and one such job could well be opening up very soon. Manchester United fans voiced their displeasure at the club losing 2-1 at home to Norwich and it could well be the start of the end for Louis van Gaal. The Dutch manager just can’t seem to get things right at Manchester United and could well finish the season outside the top four, either way, with the way the team is playing it seems likely that Van Gaal would be leaving the club one way or another, thus freeing up the chance for either Pep or Jose to pick up the club but who would suit United the best?

Pep or Jose?

Pep Guardiola

Manchester United need someone to get the team playing great football and truth be told, Jose Mourinho is not the person for that kind of football. Last season we saw Chelsea playing some amazing football in the first half of the campaign but cue December and Jose went back to the defensive mode which greatly reduced the attractiveness of Chelsea’s play.

That even affected him this season as the team just couldn’t get their swagger in attack going and it culminated with him losing his job, something that he did not expect this time around with the declaration that he wanted to build a dynasty at the club but one thing is a guarantee, Jose will win you the title in his first two years and Manchester United fans wouldn’t mind having him leading the team.

Jose Mourinho

Mourinho might not be the most popular figure in the world, but his methods do get results and if players follow his orders, they do win medals and trophies but that does come at a price and Manchester United would not be willing to pay the price of seeing their team capitulate in a couple of years and having to rebuild once again.

Pep on the other hand not only brings about a brilliant brand of football but he is the best manager in the world at the moment, only Luis Enrique can come a close second, but the team that Pep builds is incredible and often sees things which no other man in football could come up with.

Guardiola or Mourinho whoever do finally come to the club would have an immense job at their hands. Not only having to change the way and brand of football they play but also having to rebuild a team which has clearly lost the tradition of playing for Manchester United.

The club will provide the funds to get the players the manager would want and if United do want to play their brand of exciting football then Pep is a better man compared to Jose Mourinho and that will certainly bring them the success the United faithful so crave.
