Pep Guardiola to make 9 changes – Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester City XI to face Brighton

Predicted Manchester City line-up to face Brighton in the Premier League

Defending champions Manchester City welcome Brighton & Hove Albion at the Etihad for this weekend’s league fixture. Pep Guardiola’s men steamrolled Cardiff City 5-0 last week to get back on track after a torrid European result. They got the better of Oxford United in the Carabao Cup to come into this in venomous form.

Brighton lost their previous game at home to Tottenham and manager Chris Hughton would just hope that his team copes with a relentless team like City. For the home team, it should be a case of performing and getting the job done before their key visits to Hoffenheim and Liverpool.

Team News

Kevin de Bruyne is progressing well but he won’t be in action until November. Benjamin Mendy, Claudio Bravo and Eliaquim Mangala are also out but no return date is set. Guardiola is certain to stick to his regular line-up after making changes against Oxford.

Probable Manchester City XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Ederson (GK)

The Brazilian was rested in midweek. Expect him to be back for this game.

Kyle Walker (RB)

With Danilo back fit, the Brazilian was able to deputise for Walker against Oxford. The Englishman should be back for the weekend’s game.

Nicolas Otamendi

Nicolas Otamendi (CB)

Started the season late after returning from the World Cup. The Argentine has looked comfortable and commanding this season. He is certain to get an extended run in the team.

Aymeric Laporte (CB)

Was given a day off against Oxford and hence the Frenchman will be fresh to start against Brighton.

Fabian Delph (LB)

With Mendy injured, Guardiola did the right thing by resting Delph for the midweek game. The Englishman is key at left-back in the absence of the Frenchman.

Fernandinho

Fernandinho (CDM)

The experienced Brazilian should be back to play the anchor role in the midfield.

David Silva (LCM)

The Spaniard was rested last week and he played in the Carabao Cup. Expect him to feature in the league now.

Bernardo Silva (RCM)

The Portuguese has been terrific in central midfield, adapting to a new position and taking it in his stride.

Sergio Aguero

Raheem Sterling (RW)

The Englishman was rested for the midweek game and he came off from the bench. He is certain to start this weekend.

Sergio Aguero (ST)

Gabriel Jesus got a much-needed goal against Oxford, which would increase his confidence. However, it won’t be enough to dislodge Aguero from his spot.

Leroy Sane (LW)

The German is slowly getting back to his best, which is a bad news for Premier League defenders. Should start this game.
