Hull City 4-0 Queens Park Rangers: Tigers Move 5 Points Clear Of The Drop Zone

Hull have now had three impressive results in a row, drawing with both Aston Villa and Wolves and now absolutely annihilating QPR at home. It was a massive victory for the Tigers and takes them 5 points clear of the drop zone with a massive game against bottom of the table Burton coming up next.

It’s hard to pick one player out today as it was a big team performance from Hull. However, Abel Hernandez steals the headlines for this game, with a complete performance up top.

Hull City Player Ratings

Allan McGregor – 7/10

McGregor didn’t have much to do and didn’t make a single save. He marshalled his back four well and Hull seemed very disciplined defensively.

Max Clark – 9/10

All of the Hull back four played excellently but Clark was absolutely dominant at left-back. He won 4 tackles, 7 aerials challenges and also made three successful dribbles down the left.

Michael Dawson – 8/10

Because of his age, Dawson can’t play every game in the Championship and therefore, was rested for the game against Wolves. Coming back into the back-4 for this game, he was absolutely top notch, rolling back the years to put in a great performance at the heart of the defence.

Michael Dawson

Michael Hector – 9/10

Hector was also fantastic at the back and looked very comfortable with Dawson next to him. He won 6 of his aerial challenges in the middle. Was absolutely dominant.

Ola Aina– 8/10

Wasn’t quite as good as his counterpart on the left but was still very solid when defending. He also looked threatening on the attack.

Sebastian Larsson – 7/10

The only player for Hull who didn’t have an incredible game. He did his job and looked comfortable in the middle but never did anything that special.

Markus Henriksen – 8/10

Henriksen played very well in the midfield, sitting deep and breaking up the play, winning 3 of his tackles and dispossessing QPR a few times. His passing percentage was high as well. A good game for the Norweigan.

Harry Wilson – 9/10

A goal and an assist for the 21-year-old Liverpool loanee. What more could you want from your left-winger? Looked a class above at times.

Jon Toral – 7.5/10

Toral had a good game and looked dominant. He did more for his team defensively and broke up the play well. He helped his team build the attacks.

Abel Hernandez

Jarrod Bowen – 8/10

Bowen always looked dangerous down the right-hand side for Hull, running at the QPR defence and committing players. He was unlucky not to get an assist or a goal for his team.

Abel Hernandez – 9.5/10

Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Led the line from the front and was always an absolute handful. A defender’s worst nightmare. Grabbed himself a goal and was unlucky to not get more than one.

Substitutes

Kamil Grosicki – 8/10

Replaced Jarrod Bowen in the 52nd minute and made a difference for his team. Grabbed himself a goal and always looked like a threat. Seems to be recapturing his best form.

Jackson Irvine – 6/10

Came on to replace Jon Toral in the 59th minute and continued where Toral left off. Didn’t do anything of note but filled his position well.

Fraizer Campbell – 6/10

Replaced Hernandez in the 71st minute and couldn’t really fill his shoes. Did have a shot but it went wide of the target.
