Jurgen Klopp is searching for the next big player that can revive Liverpool’s chances next season. While the signings of Joel Matip and Marco Grujic will help the team in the defensive aspect of the game, the German has been looking for better options in attack and has earmarked a Real Madrid star to play for the Reds.
Jese was targeted by Liverpool last summer but couldn’t make the move as he opted to stay in the capital of Spain but with a lack of opportunities at Real Madrid, he could be willing to move away from the La Liga side.
The 22-year-old scored for Real in their 2-0 win over AS Roma in the Champions League and a move to the Premier League could be a great option for the Spanish forward but will he suit Liverpool’s style of play?
A winger that can play almost anywhere
Jurgen Klopp wants players who can be put out in various positions on the field, the same as that case was in Dortmund. While Marco Reus often played out wide, he was known to cut in; the same is the situation with the 22-year-old Jese.
The forward plays out wide on the left but is known to cut in and have a shot on goal. The truth of the matter is that Jese hasn’t made all that many appearances for Los Galacticos since breaking into the first team.
Again it isn’t easy to break into a team that consists of Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale and James Rodriguez. Jese has only made 76 appearances for Real Madrid since the 2011-12 season, not enough for his development and if he does want to represent the Spanish national side.
Liverpool are in need of quality in all their positions but would Jese be the answer for the Reds? He is young and will fit into the philosophy of bringing in players who can grow with the club; he certainly does fit the FSG mould but what about Klopp?
Jese is a hard worker and that is one thing that will make him an instant hit with the Kop. Klopp also needs players who will do the running around and give 100% all the time and Jese would be a great addition to the squad. He isn’t a winger like Liverpool need but if they are to offload Benteke, there would not be a proper target man and that would be great for Jese or any other attacker who could step up for the Reds.
