Opinion: 3 Strikers Who Can Strengthen Arsenal’s Title Credentials

Arsenal Transfer Opinion

Arsenal still have the chance of making a statement by signing a top quality player in this transfer window. The Gunners have a habit of signing big named players in the summer transfer window, something that they have done for the last two seasons. The London-based team brought in Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez from Real Madrid and Barcelona in successive seasons and could be looking to sign another striker in their hopes of not only providing cover to Olivier Giroud but also to give them someone who can fit the team and score a glut of goals.

Arsenal have the money to spend and also seem to have the power to bring any player to the club they desire, so we look at three strikers who should be targeted by the Gunners.

1. Alexandre Lacazette

The 24-year-old could be the answer to Arsenal’s goal scoring upgrade, fast, lethal and a great team player, Lacazette would be a great asset for any club. He is French, which will be a bonus for Arsenal and Wenger and for the player as well. Alexandre scored 26 league goals in just 32 games for Lyon last season and would do well for the Gunners, the only issue could be the price tag, which would be huge from Lyon but Arsenal do have the ability to sign big players for big money.

2. Marco Reus

The German could be looking for a new challenge and Arsenal could be the club that can rejuvenate the career of the attacker. Reus can play in a number of positions and already has a German contingent waiting for him in London, the only thing that could block his move is the price tag but that shouldn’t be a concern for Arsenal. The Gunners need to have options in their attack and that is exactly what Reus would provide, also he is one of the best players in the world, or at least was until he got his injury, which ruled him out of the World Cup.

3. Gonzalo Higuain

Gonzalo Higuain

This might be a tricky one, but Higuain could provide Arsenal with another dimension to Giroud, sure he might not have the greatest goal scoring record (recently), but Higuain could be a great partner in attack for Giroud and co. Higuain isn’t the happiest person at Napoli and is always looking to play in the Champions League and let’s be honest, which club has been playing in the most consecutive Champions League seasons from the Premier League? Don’t know the answer, well it’s Arsenal.
