Okaka Out, Deeney In: Strongest 3-5-2 Watford Line-Up To Face Everton

Watford

Predicted Watford Lineup To Face Everton

Watford will pay a visit to the Goodison Park as they gear up to take on Everton on Friday night in the Premier League.

The Hornets may have navigated to safety, but find themselves at 15th position and would be itching to finish higher up the table with positive results in final last 3 games. Watford come into the game on the back of a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Leicester City. However, they can derive confidence from the fact that they beat the Toffees 3-2 the last time the two sides met in December last year.

Team News

Defenders Miguel Britos, Craig Cathcart and Jose Holebas are expected to return to action on Friday night, but it remains to be seen if they will be thrust into action straight away. Younes Kaboul and Ben Watson still remain unavailable, along with Mauro Zarate and Roberto Pereyra who have been ruled out for the season.

Probable Watford Starting XI

Formation: 3-5-2

Manager: Walter Mazzarri

Heurelho Gomes (GK)

The Brazilian has had a mixed season so far, with some strong performances and some poor ones. He will have to be at his best to keep Everton out.

Christian Kabasele (CB)

The 26-year old has started the last two games after his long injury layoff. Set to make his 16th league appearance of the season on Friday.

Sebastian Prodl (CB)

The only fit first-choice centre-half available, the Austrian will have to muster up all his experience to keep Romelu Lukaku quiet.

Adrian Mariappa (CB)

The 30-year old has hardly been used this season by Mazzarri and has made just 5 league appearances. Will add one more to his tally on Friday night.

Nordin Amrabat (RM)

The Moroccan hasn’t been able to impress heavily this season. He will have to shoulder the defensive responsibilities on the right-hand side in the three-man system.

Etienne Capoue (CM)

One of the better players over the course of the season for the Hornets, Capoue will keep his place in the middle of the park.

Abdoulaye Doucoure (CM)

The 24-year old will act as the deepest of the three midfielders and will look to provide cover for his backline.

Tom Cleverley (CM)

The former Everton and Manchester United man hasn’t been all that great since his move to the Vicarage Road. But he hasn’t missed a single game since his arrival and that will not change on Friday.

Daryl Janmaat (LM)

The Dutchman has played on the left flank for the past two games. Expect that to stay the same against Ronald Koeman’s men.

Troy Deeney (ST)

The club captain was benched for the game against Leicester. He should return to the line-up in place of Stefano Okaka.

M’Baye Niang (ST)

The loanee from AC Milan has been a bright spark in the Watford attack since his arrival. He will partner Deeney at the top.
