Isaiah Brown To Start – Strongest Huddersfield Line-Up To Face Sheffield Wednesday

Huddersfield Town

Predicted Huddersfield Lineup To Face Sheffield Wednesday

Huddersfield go into their mouth-watering play-off first leg against Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday on the back of a poor run of form which has seen them finish their season by losing 3 of their last 4 games.

The Terriers’ motivation will be sky high for this one though and the atmosphere inside the ground will be rocking.  Huddersfield are just the type of side to come out fighting at the John Smith’s and will be great value for a home win. David Wagner will most likely stick with a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Probable Huddersfield Playing XI:

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: David Wagner

GK – Danny Ward

Town’s shot-stopper has been in good form and will continue here. Should start this important game for Huddersfield.

RB – Tom Smith

The right-back is gaining some reputation for himself and his record of 4 goals and 10 assists is astonishing. Keeping him high up the field against Pudil and keeping the Czech defender occupied can allow the Huddersfield front 4 to outnumber Wednesday’s defence and cause mayhem.

CB – Michael Hefele

The German centre-back pairing will have their work cut out on a potentially tough day, but marking Hooper and Fletcher out of the game may help Huddersfield take a huge step towards Wembley.

CB – Christopher Schindler

The other half of Hefele, the two are hugely important to the home side in this game. Wil partner Hefele at the back.

LB – Chris Lowe

With Smith marauding down the right-hand side, it may pay for Lowe to be a little more circumspect on the left.

CM – Aaron Mooy

Mooy and Hogg versus Wednesday’a midfield duo of Bannan and Lee is a crucial battle. Mooy has been outstanding this season and is definitely a Premier League player.

CM – Jonathan Hogg

Although going under the radar more than Mooy, Hogg’s presence is important and winning their personal battles can take Huddersfield a step closer to Wembley.

RW – Sean Scannell

It’s hard to know exactly how Wagner will line-up his front four, but Scannell may well be given a chance this time.

CAM – Isaiah Brown

The young forward may be unleashed here and with tactical battles elsewhere on the pitch, he may be allowed freedom to run at Wednesday’s back line.

LW – Rajiv van La Parra

Will be important on the left, especially if Lowe does stay back more. A good supply line for Wells to make use of.

ST – Nhaki Wells

Huddersfield Town’s centre-forward is capable on his day and may just find the finishing touches needed to get his club to Wembley for the final.
