It is official now! Former Borussia manager Jurgen Klopp is now the new Liverpool manager, after signing a three-year deal worth £15m with the club. The 48-year-old superstar replaces former boss Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked by the Reds on Sunday after being in charge of the club for almost three and a half years.
The Merseyside club are presently at 10th place in the point’s table and things did not look well for them in the Champions League as well. On the other hand, Klopp has not been working since May, when he left the Bundesliga outfit after a seven-year spell, to take a short spell away from the game.
The German manager will now be earning around £5m a year, which can rise up to £7m with bonuses for a Premier League title or Champions League qualification. Further, it seems that his former assistants Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz might join him at Anfield as well.
Sean O’Driscoll and Gary McAllister will not be retaining their roles of first-team coaching, as Klopp trusts his own guys. Hopefully, things can turn around soon with the change of managerial authority, yet what happens next remains to be seen.
