(Not Mourinho) Top 3 Replacements For Van Gaal At Manchester United

The cracks are showing at Manchester United, without a win in their last six games, out of the UEFA Champions League and now their manager is having a go at the media. Louis van Gaal is feeling the heat and his short media briefing certainly doesn’t stop the rumours spreading of his impending firing from the job at the club.

Van Gaal’s time at the club hasn’t been the greatest and with Manchester United not playing the kind of football that they are expected to play, and the team in danger of not finishing in the Champions League places either, it could be time for the management to search for a few replacements for the former Barcelona, Ajax and Bayern Munich manager.

1. Pep Guardiola

The man which every club wants to have, Guardiola is set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season and if all the rumours are to be believed, he is coming to England for his next challenge. His choices have been brought down to either Manchester United or Manchester City and he wouldn’t be the worst choice to have at United.

Guardiola would want to join a club that has a lot of money to spend and Manchester United will not shy away from backing the new manager. The club do have some quality players and maybe under another Bayern manager, they could actually play the way Manchester United are supposed to.

2. Ryan Giggs

Ryan Giggs is a legend at the club and having seen how things work out under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal, Giggs could well be the person to take the job on a fulltime basis. The Welsh Wizard might have to do some work on the touchline now and with him knowing the club inside out, he could take the step that Guardiola took into management.

Giggs though would have to be careful after all he does know what happens when a manager fails to get Manchester United playing a certain way, but he would be given a bit of time – hopefully – to build his team and make them play the way they are supposed to.

3. Gary Neville

Why not? Neville certainly knows more than most about football and now has time to hone his skills in club management at Valencia. He already is a coach in the England setup and picking up a few tricks in Spain could well be the way he gets into the job at Manchester United.

Neville has always been passionate for United but he also has a great insight for the game and that is something he can easily transfer into his management at the club. The decision to appoint Neville could depend on how things go at Valencia but it is a risk worth taking, certainly United would be playing better than they have been so far this season.
