Manchester United vs Arsenal: 3 Key Player Battles
Arsenal take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, hoping to continue their charge towards the Premier League title. Manchester United sit 5th in the table after a string of disappointing results of late, while Arsenal are 3rd in the table after an impressive win against the league leaders Leicester City in their last match.
The last time these two teams met, the Gunners destroyed United in the first twenty minutes and won the match 3-nil. United are currently struggling to put a fully fit starting XI together due to the number of injuries their players have suffered off late. Arsenal on the other hand, suffered a demoralizing defeat against Barcelona on Tuesday, after a very solid performance against the world’s best-attacking unit.

This is one duel could very well decide the outcome of the match. If Ozil is given space to pull strings from the middle by Schneiderlin, United will find it very difficult to contain Arsenal during the 90 minutes. Schneiderlin hasn’t done too badly since he moved to United from Southampton but still remains very inconsistent when up against a quality attack. His absence from the starting eleven when these two met at the Emirates left everyone surprised and the decision proved costly for Van Gaal as the lack of pace in the centre left United very open against the likes of Sanchez and Walcott. However, one feels LVG will not be repeating the same mistake again this time.
