Manchester United Transfers: Three Midfielders To Look At For the January Transfer Window

Share

With the January Transfer Window imminent in just about a month and a half’s time, Manchester United surely can’t falter in the second half of the campaign. United’s best run of form have been in October, as they are yet to settle down properly under the new management. If the Red Devils hope to get anywhere near to winning the Premiership, David Moyes would have to splash the cash come this January. So we here at Soccersouls have decided to present you the three possible options the Red Devils can look forward to bolster their current squad in order to fuel their Title Aspirations.

Koke (Athletico Madrid):

This young man from sunny Spain, who plays for Athletico Madrid is brilliant on the ball, is very versatile as he can play in a number of positions across midfield, moreover he is very hard working as he tracks back and most importantly is very consistent, something which is so rare to see in someone of his age. Athletico have had a sublime start to the season and much of the credit goes to Koke. While transfer rumours are viewed as yellow journalism from major tabloids, but if at all Koke signs for United, it will be a magnificent buy for United and Moyes in particular.

Nemanja Matic (Benfica):

As my Manchester United fanatic friend says, United are seriously looking forward to relive their distress at the back and at the heart of defensive midfield. If reports are to be believed United are seriously considering a move for Benfica’s stalwart midfielder Nemanja Matic. The 6ft 4inch Serbian is wonderful on the ball and with his dynamism and poise is someone who can unlock the toughest of games against the best sides across Europe. His impressive performances for Benfica earned him the Portuguese player of the year award at the end of the 2013 season. Once a Chelsea player who failed to secure a starting berth, the 25-year old Benfica man seems to be the real deal now.

Everton Ribeiro (Cruzeiro):

David Moyes wants to overhaul his scouting department to ensure the January transfer window goes more smoothly than the club’s dealings over the summer. A testament to which is United’s tracking down of Everton Ribeiro.

According to the Dailystar, Manchester United have sent scouts to watch Brazilian sensation Everton Ribeiro who plays for Brazilian Serie A side Cruzeiro. The 24-year old midfielder who is also known as the fox due to his dazzling displays in the middle of the park, would add to United’s attacking flair from the middle of the pitch, a key aspect which has been missing this campaign.

The Brazilian has also admitted that Manchester United is his dream club and any chance to play for the Red Devils would be hard to turn down. The same report from Dailystar has quoted the player saying as:

“I will continue doing my job here at Cruzeiro but plan on getting to a big club, it’s a dream I’ve had since I was young, I’ve always liked Manchester United.”
