It is now being stated that Premier League giants Manchester United were forced to add a €35m release clause in Spanish international David de Gea’s new contract, as per what Spanish journalist Pipi Estrada has stated. The goalie stayed back at Old Trafford after a deal broke down this summer and signed a four-year contract extension with the Red Devils.
Many fans of the club are now convinced that the 24-year-old superstar’s dream of joining Real Madrid is over. Keeping that in mind, Estrada, who has 560,000 followers on Twitter, told El Chiringuito TV that Los Blancos can purchase the Spaniard for a price of £25.5m, in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils were hoping to get a £35m price for their number one goalie, though it seems now De Gea’s move to the Bernabeu will merely be a formality. The former Atletico Madrid man is keen on returning home and if the former European champions make a bid for his services, he could be heading back to Madrid soon.
