Manchester United Player Ratings vs Wolfsburg

David de Gea: Made few decent saves in the second half but conceding 3 goals should be a worry for the Spanish goalkeeper. (6.5/10)
Guillermo Varela: Such a big game to have his Champions League debut and he did fairly well. Not a debut to remember, though. (6/10)
Chris Smalling: Not his usual commanding self. Should take some blame for losing Naldo for Wolfsburg’s first goal. (5.5/10)
Daley Blind: The Dutchman did play a part in the opening goal of the match, but he was unable to provide solidity that United needed so badly in defence. (5.5/10)
Matteo Darmian: He was given the task of marking the dangerous Draxler which forced him to sit back and his attacking contributions were minimal. Got subbed because of an injury. (5/10)
Bastian Schweinsteiger (FLOP OF THE GAME): The German veteran struggled up against the pace and trickery of the Hosts and he was subbed as well. (4/10)
Marouane Fellaini: Average game from the tall midfielder. Other than that one header, he barely made any other meaningful contributions. (5/10)
Jesse Lingard: Unlucky to get his goal disallowed, but his attacking gameplay was very average on the day. (6/10)
Juan Mata: He played a big role in that disallowed goal where the ref disallowed the goal because of his interference. (6/10)
Memphis Depay: Showed a glimpse of his pace and trickery but for a United no 7, one would expect lot more from the Dutch star. (5/10)
Anthony Martial: The rising French star was United’s best player in the first half but got himself faded in the second half, though. (7/10)
