Tuesday night transfer roundup across Europe !

Manchester United

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly after 4 world class players to strengthen his midfield and defensive areas to do justice to the world class attack that he has. With the likes of Rooney, Van Persie and Javier Hernandez in the line-up, United are missing out on a midfielder who can provide decent services week in week out. Though there is new signing Kagawa available in the armory United are always a man short in midfield.

The reliable Manchester Evening paper today reported that Manchester United is looking at world class quartet to secure their 20th Premier League title.

As earlier reported by our team, Luka Modric who left Tottenham this summer for Real Madrid is one of the targets. Modric, who’s enjoyed most of his time at Real Madrid on the bench is apparently eager to return to the Premier League.

Marouane Fellaini is another, the Belgium international has played a big part of Everton’s success this season and has scored 8 goals for the Toffees. Tough Chelsea are in for the player, United boss looks determined to make a move first.

Frank Lampard who’s set to leave Chelsea this summer, has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford. The 34-year old could offer Ferguson a new option from midfield, scoring the goals he does.

The last player reported to be on Ferguson transfer wish-list is Lars Bender, the 23-year old box-to-box midfielder who plays for Bayern Leverkusen.

Arsenal

Well Arsenal are one of the clubs which are always swarmed with rumours and the trend continues with this window also with the London club linked with almost all the top talents available across Europe.

Arsenals’s pursuit of Barcelona looks to have a hit a road block and potentially a dead end as Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has claimed that the Spaniard is not for sale this January.

“I completely rule out the transfer of Villa during the winter market. He is ours and we need him, there is a lot of the season left.”

Though Arsenal have been linked with a string of players, the manager has not given any hint of landing anyone (which he never does) And also as history suggests Wenger has always been rigid about spending in January.

“We are on the market and if we find the right players, we will do something”, Wenger told Arsenal Player.
