Manchester United Backed Out On €50million Rated Defender, Claims Spanish Journalist

Aymeric Laporte linked with a move to United

Premier League giants Manchester United do not consider Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte worth his €50m price tag, as per the claims by Spanish football expert Guillem Balague. Sky Sports reported that Balague has confirmed that the Red Devils do not feel that the talented 21-year old defender is worth his full buy-out clause, as they look to strengthen their back-line.

Despite that he believes that the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are interested in signing the youngster.

When asked in a question and answer session ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline, Balague stated, “Laporte is wanted by Bayern Munich. He renewed his contract and now his buyout clause is €50m which Athletic Bilbao will not negotiate.”

“I feel Manchester United do not feel he is worth that much money.”
