Arsenal Transfer Window Analysis
The team that were expected to challenge for the Premier League crown this season certainly have not done much to appease fans who have been asking for the club to make some new signings. Arsenal should have invested into their squad but haven’t done much activity in this transfer window though they did sign one player who is expected to make them challengers for the Premier League.
We look at the transfer activity of the Gunners so far this season and analyse where they have gone right or wrong, only the big name signings and departures are covered in this list.

Well, Arsenal didn’t break the bank this season like they have for the past two summer transfer windows. They have been rather quite in this window and only brought in Petr Cech for a modest fee. It certainly was surprise to see Chelsea, one of their biggest rivals to allow a player to move directly to a rival but Jose Mourinho always has a plan but more importantly Arsene Wenger did pull off a coup with the signing of the former Chelsea goalkeeper.
Cech is expected to provide Arsenal the stability between the sticks and also to provide leadership for the defence, something that Arsenal have lacked for many seasons. Cech though didn’t have the greatest starts to his Arsenal career but slowly, he has shown that he can be an extremely important asset for the club as they try to win the Premier League crown once again.
Fans though must be disappointed by the lack of activity by Wenger, we all know that the club has the money to spend, especially after the completion of all financial obligations related to the Emirates and for some reason Arsenal have not spent a lot of money this season. They require a few players in positions such as central defence, central midfield and have needed a top striker who can support Giroud or even take up the sole striker’s role but nothing has been done so far.
This however shouldn’t be the greatest problem for Arsenal, they do have one of the biggest and best squads in the country. The problem over the years for the club has been the inability to keep their players fit, something they hope to achieve this time around. The lack of a top quality striker in this transfer window though could come back to hurt them in the latter stages of the season when games come thick and fast and injuries can be picked up by players. If the Gunners keep everyone fit, then the Premier League could be theirs for the taking.
