Sterling (Liverpool Star)? Who Needs Him? 3 Super Alternatives For Manchester City

Manchester City Transfers

Liverpool fans were left with another rude shock as Raheem Sterling, apparently, asked to be left out of the Red’s pre-season tour games. This is just another part of the Raheem Sterling saga and now it seems that the England attacker will not remain at Liverpool or at least force his way out.

Manchester City are the leading the chase to sign him but have to up their bid from £40 million to the £50 million Liverpool have asked for the player. City are in desperate need of signing some creative players and the deal could happen all so more because they need to sign a few English players before the start of the season.

If getting an English player is not the real reason for this mad transfer saga, City can spend that money on getting some better players than Raheem Sterling and we list out 3 players whom the Blues can sign and would make an instant impact for their team.

1. Julian Draxler

One player who has been linked with a move to an English club since the start of Breaking Bad, Julian Draxler keeps performing for Schalke and his stock value continues to increase. The German world cup winner has been toying with defences all throughout his career and would be a great addition to Manchester City’s team. A great attacker with impeccable control of the ball, Draxler has performed at the big stage and done it all, well at least for his country. Sterling? Who needs him?

2. James Rodriguez

This might be one of the most expensive deals out there but paying £50 million for Sterling is rather too high as well. Rodriguez did have a brilliant season for Real Madrid and while this signing might be a dream, it could happen if Manchester City splash the cash. They need to sign someone to signal intent and getting one of the brightest attackers in the world would be a sure shot guarantee at making a few heads turn while also giving the team better attacking threat.

3. Mateo Kovacic

If City want to get a player who can get better each season, they should attempt to sign Kovacic. The Inter Milan player is highly rated, even the legend Javier Zanetti considers the Croatian to be one of the best prospects to come out from Europe since a certain Cristiano Ronaldo. Adept at playing as the attacking midfielder, Kovacic could bring back the bite that has been missing from the City midfield for quite some time.
