According to a report from Marca (h/t The Sun), Manchester City are interested in buying Real Madrid ace Isco.
City manager Pep Guardiola cites the Los Blancos playmaker as an alternative for his fellow Countryman, David Silva, who has recently announced that he would leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of next season.
Isco, 27, continued to be an integral part of Los Blancos only before the start of the previous season, where he got ostracized by manager Santiago Solari, who cited the Spaniard as a misfit. As a result, Isco witnessed a serious decline in his scoring ratio for the first-team in the Madrid shirt.
However, the former Malaga man revived himself with the arrival of Zinedine Zidane, under whom he was vital for the past few seasons. Isco concluded the season with only seven goals and assists and most importantly he appeared as a substitute on 17 occasions.
The 33-year-old prevailed as an indispensable asset over the course of his career for the Cityzens and provided them with so many contributions towards trophies.
In the previous season where the Sky Blues eventually achieved a quadruple, the midfielder racked up 24 goal contributions, which overshadowed the fact that he is in the twilight of his career.
The former Valencia man has already made 395 appearances for the Lancashire outfit and certainly would go down as one of the best players to don the Sky Blues’ shirt.
Isco holds the potential to become the successor of Silva regardless of a lacklustre last season.
Despite the fact that he was an outcast throughout the campaign, the Spanish international held a pass success percentage of 88, and he always cut a different and influential figure in the Spanish national team.
Furthermore, this bad run of form also doesn’t take away the fact that he has won three Champions League titles in a row.

More like Silva, Isco is familiar with a slightly deeper and central role despite the fact he is an attacking midfielder by trade. Having an array of dribbling skills and the knack for short passes, Isco looks tailor-made option for Guardiola.
The Blues are keen on bringing a successor for David Silva and Isco is one of the best options available. And with his addition, Guardiola’s fortunes in Champions League would definitely change in the upcoming season.
