According to a report from Metro, Manchester United are interested in signing Dinamo Zagreb winger Dani Olmo for £35m.
The 21-year-old has been the talk of the town for his cluster of wonderful displays in Euro U21, which eventually played a major role for Spain to clinch the title. Olmo is tied to the Croatian outfit until 2021 and also being watched by his former club Barcelona.
The Spaniard has been a consistent performer for Dinamo Zagreb for the past two seasons, bagging a cluster of individual awards.
In the process, he racked up a total of 21 goals and 15 assists with seven domestic honours. And in the recently concluded U21 tournament, Olmo ended up with three goals and an assist including a deciding goal in the finals against Germany.
Primarily an attacking midfielder, Olmo is synonymous with the winger role on either side of the flanks.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in desperate need of attacking reinforcements after enduring a lacklustre 2018/19 season.
Barring Marcus Rashford, Solskjaer’s only positive, other United forwards namely Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku proved to be a cut below their usual standards.
Jesse Lingard, in particular, turned out to be a let-down for the Norwegian manager due to his inconsistency, resulting from injuries.
Meanwhile, United can benefit from the services of Olmo in multiple ways.
The Spaniard can be either deployed as an advanced playmaker or as a winger on the right flank, beating the likes of injury-prone Lingard.

Olmo’s attacking index in the Euro U-21 campaign was exquisite as he had attempted 4 shots per game, indicating his goalscoring intentions in the opposition box.
A good dribbler by nature, Olmo is also adept at passing as he averaged 2 key passes per game in the previous season.
Predominantly, United’s fresh signings were young and exciting talents, which indicates Solksjear’s intentions to reignite his side influenced with youngsters.
In fact, it looks a good sign and the transfer spree should continue with Spanish forward Olmo, who is currently in the form of his lifetime.
