Why Manchester United is a better destination for Arne Maier than Arsenal

According to a report in Sun Football, Premier League duo Arsenal and Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Hertha Berlin wonderkid Arne Maier. The 19-year-old, who is labeled as the ‘new Toni Kroos’ is attracting interests from some of the big clubs in England.

Maier is now an established first-team starter at Hertha and plays for Germany U21. However, he is not far away from getting a call from the senior national squad, as the teenager’s performance level has been high. (Sun)

Torreira is a real livewire in central areas of the field, covering the ground as much as possible to protect the right spaces and also moving forward when required to score or assist. He isn’t too tall in size but the tenacity and willingness to win duels in the midfield aid him to a large extent.

These are the things which Patrick Vieira would do back in his old Arsenal days! Therefore, the Gunners fans would be hoping for the Uruguayan to remain consistent and become the next midfield beast at the club.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have struggled in the midfield department. Nemanja Matic has played like a lost warrior at times, allowing the opposition number 10s to create chances.

The Serb has failed to protect the backline and cover the ground to defend the right spaces. As a result, Jose Mourinho’s men have been anything but watertight defensively.
