Liverpool’s Predicted Lineup To Face West Bromwich Albion: An Entire Young Squad To Start

Share

After a 1-1 draw at Anfield couple of nights ago, Jurgen Klopp’s men will be travelling The Hawthorns stadium to face West Bromwich Albion to play their last premier league fixture of the season.

Liverpool, in their last game somehow managed to settle the game with a point as Christian Benteke scored the goal for the reds in the dying minutes of the game. With Europa League to play for next week, the German manager will surely rest the senior players in the following fixture. Furthermore, West Brom in their last Premier League game played a 1-1 draw at the Vitality stadium against Bournemouth.

Liverpool are surely a confident side now and are enjoying their every minute under Klopp. The last time these two sides met in the Premier league, the game ended as a 2-2 draw and both the sides settled down with a point. But, with a different situation this time around, Liverpool are having an upper hand in the following fixture 3 of their last 6 games and have lost just once. On the other hand, West Brom have no victory to show for in their last 6 games as they have lost 4 and have drawn 2.

Here is the predicted lineup for Liverpool that could face West Brom this Sunday-

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet-

With the absence of Danny Ward due to his knee injury, the manager will have to go with this Belgian shot stopper. He hasn’t been that promising this year, but fairly speaking, the club have no other options that him.

Defence: Flanagan: Skrtel; Lucas; Smith-

Klopp will surely make many chances in the back for this time out and will rest many of the senior players for the game against Seville. In place of Clyne, the manager might go with the English defender Jon Flanagan who haven’t had much to show for this season, but he can do well against West Brom. Lucas is naturally a midfielder, but with manager’s praise and confidence, the Brazilian has converted himself as a center half as well, and he might start the game alongside Skrtel whose future with the club is in immense doubt. After serving a ban following the red card against Swansea City, Smith might return in place of Alberto Moreno at the left flank.

Midfielders: Ibe; Allen; Stewart; Brannagan; Ojo-

A win for the reds won’t do much and that’s why, the German manager might take a risk of going with a full young midfield in the game against West Brom. He might go with Jordan Ibe and Sheyi Ojo in the right and left wing respectively. Both the youngsters have shown a promising rise to their career and after the German’s arrival at the club, the midfielders have had many chances to showcase their talent. Allen will be the most senior man in the midfield and hence, he will have to work accordingly. With Stewart playing a defensive role in the midfield, Allen will have much room to play for. Cameron Brannagan is capable of playing in central as well as at the attacking position. The manager might go with the young attacking minded midfielder in their next game.

Striker: Christian Benteke-

The Belgian center forward did feature against Cheslea, but only as a substitute. As the manager might give rest to Sturridge, Benteke might mark his appearance for the side this Sunday.
