Liverpool Set A New Record: Most Popular In Country’s History

Liverpool’s match against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park was one of the most viewed matches according to German TV channel Sport1, however, the recent match between both the clubs at the Anfield Stadium beat the previous records according to the channel.

According to the channel, the match between Liverpool and Dortmund at the Anfield was viewed by 7.8 million viewers in Germany setting a new record in the 23-year-old history.

Dortmund scored 2 goals early into the match, which leads many to believe that the game has gone into the hands of the German club however Liverpool’s consistent four goals scoring through the game led the Reds to get qualified for the semi-finals of the Europa League.

The game was made more interesting by the fact that Jurgen Klopp was playing against his former club. Further, Klopp has been a popular figure in Germany and reports claim that the football fans have taken a keen interest in Liverpool matches since the German manager joined the Reds.
