Liverpool Player Ratings Against Norwich – THEY BELIEVE

Share

A nervy 3-2 win over Norwich meant Liverpool are surely in a commanding position for the Premier League title by going five points clear at the top of the table. Raheem Sterling’s thunderous 25 yard screamer opened the scoring before Luis Suarez tapped in the 19 year old’s delightful pass inside the penalty box. Noriwch however were gifted a goal back by Simon Mingolet, the Belgian failing to clear Whittaker’s cross as Gary Hooper tapped in. As Sterling added a third following a deflection, Norwich almost immediately got back thanks to a great header from Robert Snodgrass. Brendan Rodgers’ men however held firm as the Reds are now firm favourites for their first title in 24 years. Here are the Liverpool player ratings from Carrow Road.

Raheem Sterling

Simon Mingolet: The Belgian made two great saves but failed to deal with Whittaker’s cross as Gary Hooper tapped in a simple effort.

Rating: 2/5

Glen Johnson: Shocking display from the English right back, looked out of sorts and also his failure to stop Olsson’s cross setup Snodgrass’ header and a frantic finish at the end.

Rating: 1/5

Mamadou Sakho: Another poor display from the Frenchman who looked poor throughout the encounter. Was lucky not to have been booked following an ill timed challenge on Snodgrass in the second half.

Rating: 2/5

Martin Skrtel: A colossal at the back for the Reds as the Slovakian was simply sumptuous dealing with all the pressure single handedly.

Rating: 4/5

Jon Flanagan: The youngster worked his socks off showing great enthusiasm on the pitch with his darting runs forward. Flanagan however was dodgy in the second half.

Rating: 2.5/5

Joe Allen: A great first half from the Welshman was marred by a worse second half display. Nothing more to comment on him except his well timed effort was easily saved by Ruddy.

Rating: 2/5

Lucas Leiva: The Brazilian failed to impress in his advanced role and should have scored at the business end following Suarez’s lovely cut back from the left. Also got a deserved booking at the end.

Rating: 2/5

Steven Gerrard: One of Gerrard’s calming presence at the back playing almost as a third centre back helped Liverpool’s cause. The skipper’s passing was immaculate as always.

Rating: 3.5/5

Philippe Coutinho: Superb game for the Brazilian playing from the left and his touches and passing was simply sumptuous on the day.

Rating: 3.5/5

Raheem Sterling: Perhaps the best young player in England currently, the 19 year old was involved in all of Liverpool’s three goals. Opened the scoring with a thunderous effort and then provided Suarez a lovely ball to set up Liverpool’s second. Also got his brace following a massive deflection.

Rating: 4.5/5

Luis Suarez: Inevitably the Uruguayan scored and was dazzling up front. Bagged his 30 goals in the season. PFA player of the year award is waiting for the former Ajax man

Rating: 4/5
