Why This Liverpool Outcast Should Move To West Ham In January

It’s always an awful thing when a lot of talent goes to waste due to the new scheme a manager tries to implement on his side, leaving behind some players that are more than capable of contributing but just don’t seem to fit the needs of the boss.

That often leads to rush moves from teams and players, and that becomes music to the ears for some other teams that could look to make the most out of the unfortunate situation in order to provide a new home for the player and make everybody happy.

And that’s exactly what’s happening with Liverpool and England starting striker Daniel Sturridge, as the prolific scorer is reportedly having a bad time at Merseyside and he could be on his way out as soon as this January despite his boss Jurgen Klopp constantly stating that he intends to keep the forward on the team.

Daniel Sturridge is used to be the main focus of the offence since Luis Suarez’s departure to FC Barcelona, and he’s not enjoying his time at the bench at all, but he hasn’t been able to contribute when he’s given the chance to prove himself either, having a pretty subpar year after we all thought he could totally thrive under Jurgen Klopp’s command.

So, it seems like there’s not much room left in the Liverpool Offence with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana all playing the best football of their careers, so Daniel’s become an outcast at Melwood and several teams are preparing themselves to make a run at the striker, a transaction that could involve at least 25 million pounds.

Stoke and Tottenham were strongly linked with the British over the past few weeks, but it seems like the frontrunner to acquire the talented striker right now is Slaven Bilic’s West Ham United, a team that is going to be extremely aggressive during this transfer window trying to pursue a striker, as they’ve also been linked with a number of stars since the Simone Zaza experiment has been a total failure.

But, why should Sturridge actually go play at London Stadium after that horrible season they’ve been having if he could go play for a team that fits his high profile? Let’s take a look at some facts and see why.

Sturridge is known for his offensive talent and his finishing abilities, but he’s also known for being a self-centred guy that doesn’t enjoy being told what to do or sent to the bench, and being the main focus of offence once again is exactly what he wants to do, even if he doesn’t do so for a contender.

So, playing alongside Dimitri Payet and fellow compatriot Michail Antonio would be a very nice thing for him, as he could take his career back on track while being the big shot and not having to spend a single minute on the bench again (if he actually manages to keep healthy, something very unlikely given his history).

Sturridge could regret this move sooner than later, as he’s a fan favourite at Anfield and Klopp’s side is making a great run at the Premier League title, but considering how his situation has turned around, it wouldn’t be a crazy move for him to go ahead and become a Hammer.
