Liverpool were interested to sign Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle United last summer. Now the chase is back on as the Reds have shown interest in signing him before the new season begins.
Daily Express has reported that Chelsea and Liverpool have both entered the race for Sissoko and Newcastle is demanding £20 million to let him go. Ex-player Danny Murphy is a big fan of Sissoko and has compared him to him Patrick Vieira during 2014-15 season. Sissoko was in touch with Liverpool before making a move to Newcastle but recently he has expressed interest in Arsenal rather than Liverpool.
While the price tag may be a bit too high considering that Newcastle United has been relegated from the Premier League, Sissoko is a more realistic target for Liverpool who too are not participating in any European tournament so the chance of landing Mkhitaryan or Higuain is much lower. The question is will he be able to perform at Anfield?
