Liverpool Latest: Barcelona Winger Admits Liverpool’s Interest While Henderson Praises Rodgers

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson was almost sure to leave the club this summer. But manager Rodgers decided to keep faith with him and now he has become an important part of the team. His game has improved a lot recently and he has done his part brilliantly against the oppositions till now (probably the best spell of his Reds career). And now Henderson has mentioned that the faith that his manager has shown in him has had great impact on him.

“I feel as though I’ve progressed over the last year or two,” Henderson mentioned to Liverpoolfc.com. ”I’ll try and push on. The manager has been brilliant with me and everybody else here. He’s been fantastic on a personal level. I think I’ve improved my game since he’s come to the club and he’s helped me to do that. We worked very hard preseason and then in the games we have looked pretty solid as a team. The manager has definitely been working on that during the preseason. Last three home games, we’ve done really well.”

The fans would certainly be upbeat about Henderson’s form after his dismal performance of the last two seasons. He had been brought from Sunderland in 2011 for a huge sum of money and this is the first team that he has proved his worth to the club.

Here is his performance against Notts County:

In other news, Cristian Tello of Barcelona has mentioned that he was aware of Liverpool’s interest in him but he decided to stay at Camp Nou. Liverpool had been in search of a winger throughout the summer and they had moved for a number of other players but missed out on all, ultimately bringing in Victor Moses from Chelsea on a season long loan.

“I feel better than in previous seasons. I know that Liverpool were very interested in me, but I never wanted to leave Barcelona. The coach has a lot of confidence in me, I am happy here and I am ready for a lot of playing time,” he mentioned in an interview recently.
