The Whites suffered back-to-back defeats within a week at a crucial stage in the Championship.

And the 2-0 loss against Brentford on Monday dented Leeds’ automatic promotion hopes.

Now, Former Whites and current BBC Radio commentator Whelan has urged the Whites to pick up the momentum in the remaining fixtures.

He said, (h/t BBC Radio Leeds)

“Ipswich game, that will be their [Sheffield United’s] game, done and dusted”,

So we’ve got to try and find some kind of confidence and a way back, get belief and confidence going, and motivation.

And Whelan pointed out United’s poor display against Wigan Athletic last week.

Wiganpunished the Elland Road club 2-1, with Marcelo Bielsa’s men looking completely off-colour.

The game against Wigan was disappointing itself, but you’d got an opportunity to come here and put something right, and they just didn’t”,

Biela also expressed his disappointment, following Brentford’s defeat, as his men were struggling to convert the chances.

Marcelo-Bielsa-

Sheffield United, LUFC’s promotion rivals, produced a comprehensive win over Hull City, thus leapfrogging the whites to second place in the table.

Now, the Elland Road club is third in the Championship table, trailing the Blades by three points, with only a few games left to be played.
