According to a report from Leeds Live, Championship outfit Leeds United have expressed an interest in signing Ryan Kent from Liverpool.
The 22-year-old winger spent the last season on loan with Rangers and under Steven Gerrard, where he was very successful, which has sparked interest from Leeds, Middlesbrough and newly-promoted top-flight club Aston Villa.
Liverpool’s asking price is £12million, a fee that may put clubs off a permanent deal this summer. Following Ryan Kent’s impressive form, Liverpool may want to have a look at him and not make a rushed decision about his future.
However, the Reds might agree to loan out the 22-year-old again and that’s when Leeds must tempt Kent into joining them this season.
The Whites are yet to open their account in terms of summer signings as Marcelo Bielsa plots another assault on the Championship title. They led the Championship for much of last season and looked to be in prime position to finally end their 15-year exile from the Premier League.
However, a second-half slump saw them ultimately slip down into the playoffs, where they suffered a shock semi-final exit to Derby County.
Regardless of the Whites tipped to be one of the favourites to win promotion to the Premier League next season, Bielsa, who reaffirmed his commitment to Elland Road for another year, must look to beef up his squad over the summer.
The veteran Argentinean tactician will know what to address in order to build a squad capable of winning the Championship title.
Jack Clarke is close to joining Tottenham, which will leave Bielsa a little short as far as the attacking options are concerned. The Whites struggled to score goals consistently and lacked real creativity at times to carve open defences.
To add more creativity and flair in the final third, signing Ryan Kent would be the right move.
Kent, a left-sided winger, might just be tempted with Bielsa in charge. The current Leeds boss has overseen the growth of some great players during his many years in management.
The 22-year-old combines his pace, dribbling skills, power and spatial awareness brilliantly, finding pockets of spaces to torment the opposition’s defence.

Bielsa loves to work with versatile and tactically flexible players and Kent could well make the difference in any attacking position at Elland Road next season.
All in all, we can conclude by saying that Kent is a quality player, who certainly will bolster Leeds’ hopes of achieving promotion. He can be the Whites’ new hero next season.
