Leeds United Opinion – Should Leeds go all out for Harry Wilson?

According to a report in Wales Online, Liverpool’s Harry Wilson, who is currently plying his trade at Derby County on a loan spell, is a Leeds United target.

As per the report, the Whites manager Marcelo Bielsa is keeping a close eye on the Welshman and would make a move for him if he steers the Elland Road side to the Premier League by the end of this season.

As of now, Leeds are second in the table, only two points behind leaders Norwich City and in a good position to be one of the two automatically promoted teams come May.

Here’s why the club should go all out and make a big swoop for Wilson in the summer transfer window:

Wilson would fit the Bielsa system perfectly

Predominantly a right-winger, Harry Wilson is capable of playing on the left and also as a central attacking midfielder. He is also intelligent enough to play as one of the wide midfielders, with the security of a defensive midfielder behind.

The 21-year-old has almost played in all of the above-mentioned positions for Derby County this season. The Welshman has scored 10 goals and supplied two assists in 28 Championship appearances, most of them coming while playing as one of the central/wide midfielders. (Whoscored.com)

If we analyse Bielsa’s system, he plays the 4-1-4-1 system with a defensive midfielder, two number 10s or wide midfielders along with two wingers in behind the striker.

It has been well documented that since the departure of Samuel Saiz, Leeds have struggled to fill the gap in that creative midfield position. With Wilson’s guile, creativity and many other aspects of his game, he could be an ideal addition to the setup at Elland Road.
