Predicted Stoke City Line-up To Face Leicester City In The Premier League

Stoke City will welcome a reinvigorated Leicester City to the Bet365 Stadium, in gameweek 11 of the Premier League, on Saturday.

The Potters haven’t had the best of the starts to the season, and find themselves at 14th place in the league standings, with 11 points from 10 outings. However, last week’s 1-0 win over high-fliers Watford will have come as a boost for Mark Hughes’ side and they will want to carry the momentum to the game against the Foxes this weekend.

Team News

Versatile defender Geoff Cameron is a slight doubt for the game due to a concussion whereas veteran forward Peter Crouch is also a doubt owing to a back problem. Summer signing Bruno Martins Indi is ruled out of the clash with a hamstring injury, while Stephen Ireland also remains unavailable.

Here’s how the Potters might take the field against Claude Puel’s men:

Manager: Mark Hughes

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Jack Butland (GK)

The Englishman has been the preferred choice in goal ahead of Lee Grant since his return from injury towards the end of the last season. Will stay so against Leicester.

Kurt Zouma (CB)

The on-loan Chelsea defender has been impressive so far in his short spell at the Bet365 and will be hoping to put in a strong display on Saturday.

Kurt Zouma

Ryan Shawcross (CB)

In the middle of the three-man defence for the Potters, it should be captain Ryan Shawcross, who will be tasked with keeping Jamie Vardy under wraps.

Kevin Wimmer (CB)

The former Tottenham man is yet to live up to the hefty amount Stoke paid for him in the summer. Set to make his 6th Premier League appearance of the season.

Mame Biram Diouf (RWB)

Has been impressive in the wing-back role on the right flank. Having scored three and assisted one already this term, he will want to add to his tally against the Foxes.

Darren Fletcher (CM)

The match winner for the Potters last weekend, scoring the only goal of the game against Watford, Darren Fletcher will once again line up in the midfield.

Darren Fletcher

Joe Allen (CM)

Partnering the Scot in the middle of the park should be Wales international Joe Allen. The 27-year old has just registered a single assist in his 9 league outings so far and will want to improve that tally.

Erik Pieters (LWB)

In the left wing-back position, Dutchman Erik Pieters is very much likely to continue in the starting XI. Will have his task cut out against the threat of Demarai Gray.

Xherdan Shaqiri (RAM)

The Swiss attacker is one of Stoke’s biggest threats going forward with his pace and dribbling skills. Could pose some serious questions to the Leicester backline.

Jese Rodriguez

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (LAM)

Two goals and two assists for the summer signing so far this term in the Premier League. Having started the game in a central role last weekend, he might shift to the left-hand side on Saturday.

Jese Rodriguez (ST)

The loanee from Paris Saint-Germain did not feature last week, but could be in line for a return to the starting XI against Leicester.
