Is This Dutch Ace The Answer To Manchester United’s Midfield Problem?

Share

The talks between Inter Milan and 28 year old Dutch captain Wesley Sneijder have seemed to have fallen out as he continues to reject their new contract offer! Bad news for Inter but good news for other clubs who have an opportunity to buy him during the January or coming summer transfer window!

Of the many clubs vying for the Dutchman, United have outrun most, being linked with the him during the summer. As one of the primary targets for Manchester United earlier this year, Sir Alex will look to bid one last time to try and bring the midfielder to Old Trafford!

As most would not have expected, due to good team chemistry and stellar displays by Cleverly and Carrick with every passing game, the central midfield looks stable. So the Inter move seems less likely! To clear the rumors, Sir Alex clearly stated that he has no intention of buying anyone to the club in January. Even so, Sneijder is one of the best midfielders out there and seeing as there is no Nani at the moment, Sir Alex will be looking for a replacement. Theo Walcott and Ola John are among others who are linked with United.

With so many options available, another plus point to be noted is that due to his lack of form, Sneijder’s wage rates have reduced, which works in favour of Sir Alex. A fair price would be £15 -20 million. Both the Dutchman and United will profit from the deal if followed through. We could even see a possible ‘deadly’ Dutch combination of Persie and Sneijder!
