Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil is currently recovering from a knee ligament damage that kept him sidelined for most of the games so far this season.
Initial reports suggested that he will miss the entire year. Now, Mesut Ozil himself came out and confirmed that he will miss atleast 7 more weeks before he can return to full training with Arsenal.
Ozil said during Laureus Award event,
‘I have already been out for five weeks and will be out for another seven weeks.
‘That is a really long time but that is the way it is in football sometimes. My head is held high and we look forward’
Mesut Ozil received Laureus Sport for Good award in Berlin for his charity works in Brazil.
After picking up the award, Ozil said,
‘We had the idea to help 23 children, because we had 23 players in the [Germany World Cup] squad.
‘And they underwent surgery, which was successful. I am very thankful. The doctors did a great job. I am very happy because it goes well for the children.
‘This award will get a very special place at my home.’
