Liverpool picked up easy three points at the Stadium of lights against a mangerless Sunderland side as Luis Suarez announced his return to the Premier League in style scoring two out of the three goals and put to bed any suggestions said that he couldn’t partner with Daniel Sturridge who ironically opened the Reds account and continued his goal scoring form.
Suarez was well prepared for the occasion as a specially made t-shirt underneath his Liverpool jersey was revealed during his goal celebrations. The t-shirt contained a picture of his family including wife his Sofia Balbi, daughter Delfina and son Benjamin.
The Uruguayan went on to add another goal before the final whistle and made his mark after all the summer window frenzies that revolved around Anfield. Although Sunderland created enough chances and threatened to hit back, the only goal pulled back by Giaccherini was the positive note to take back for the Black Cats who remain at the bottom of the table without a single victory this season.
Liverpool stand second in the table with 12 points and are tied with Tottenham while their rivals Everton and Manchester United are at 8th and 11th respectively. A very good start to the season, has been further buoyed by the return of Luis Suarez as the Reds will hope to maintain their momentum and look for a possible top 4 finish.
While the match reviews, tactical analysis and player ratings are on one side, we bring you some of the pictures and tweets after Liverpool’s antics at the Stadium of Lights.
