Predicted Middlesbrough line-up to face Brentford in the Championship

Middlesbrough picked up another win last time out and are very much in the race to secure a promotion to the Premier League. Tony Pulis’ men have been resilient and hard to breach so far.

They have to be defensively strong once again as they come up against Brentford in the Championship this weekend. Brentford are on the back of a loss against Queens Park Rangers and will be looking to make amends in this game.

Team News

Only Sam Mcqueen and Ryan Shotton are still out injured for Boro. Tony Pulis otherwise has a fully fit and firing squad to pick from for this game. Expect the manager to field the winning team from Wigan two weeks back.

Probable Middlesbrough XI

Manager: Tony Pulis

Formation: 4-3-3

Darren Randolph (GK)

He didn’t have much to do in the last game but this one won’t be the same.

Darren Randolph

Dael Fry (RB)

Defended very well against Wigan and sent in a number of delicious deliveries into the box. Fry is a quality player and should start this game.

Daniel Ayala (CB)

Ayala could return for this game in place Danny Batth. He was back from suspension for the last game but Pulis left him on the bench.

Aden Flint (CB)

Has been one of the most consistent players for Boro this season. His performance will be important in this one as well.

George Friend (LB)

His defensive work was flawless in the last game and he won the all-important penalty against Wigan Athletic.

George Friend

Jonny Howson (RCM)

Played a couple of superb balls into the box in the last game. Tony Pulis will want the same from him in this one as well.

Adam Clayton (CM)

Kept Wigan’s midfielders quiet in the last game and dictated the play well. He should continue in the middle of the park.

Muhamed Besic (LCM)

He worked hard in the last game but wasn’t good with his distribution. He should start this one as well.

Stewart Downing (RW)

Downing has always maintained his form and looked dangerous last time out as well.

Jordan Hugill (ST)

After scoring against Boro at the start of the year, he scored two superb goals for them last weekend.

Martin Braithwaite (LW)

Set up Hugill’s goal with a superb cross and linked up well with the striker in the final third.
