Liverpool vs Wolves Predictions – Liverpool line-up

After a miracle in midweek against Barcelona, Liverpool would be aiming to finish their league season off with a bang when they face Wolves at Anfield this Sunday.

The Reds are currently second in the table, just a point behind leaders Manchester City, who in turn face Brighton at the same time. The general consensus is that Pep Guardiola’s men will win their game and clinch the title.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s men should look to win their game in style and hope that some magic is performed at the Amex Stadium by the Seagulls.

Team News

Naby Keita picked up a groin injury last week and his season is over. Mohamed Salah didn’t play on Tuesday due to concussion protocols. He is ready to start on Sunday.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had a slight knock, hence, he was rested for the midweek game. Andy Robertson was kicked out by Luis Suarez and is expected to miss the game on Sunday. He will be fit for the Champions League final though.

Jordan Henderson virtually played the second half on Tuesday with one leg after getting a whack on his knee. He might not start on Sunday. Roberto Firmino has been absent for the last two games and is a doubt for the next game as well.

Probable Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Alisson (GK)

He is their first-choice keeper and should be in goal against Wolves.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

The youngster has been in great form at right-back. He must start on Sunday.

Joel Matip (CB)

The former Cameroon international has been a rock in the past couple of months. He deserves to keep his place.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

The Dutchman is an irreplaceable cog in the team and is certain to start on Sunday.

James Milner (LB)

With Robertson a huge doubt, Milner may fill in at left-back for this game.

Fabinho (CM)

The Brazil international has been in good form of late. He should start on Sunday and keep things tight in defensive midfield.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

With few absentees in midfield for this game, Wijnaldum may have to play alongside Fabinho as a midfield pivot.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

He was ready to play on Tuesday but was advised by the medical department to not play. The Egyptian star is good to go for Sunday though.

Xherdan Shaqiri (CAM)

Shaqiri has played as an attacking midfielder before. He would look to do that on Sunday and operate in between the lines.

Sadio Mane (LW)

The Senegalese star is an ever-present on the left wing. He is a certainty to start on Sunday.

Divock Origi (ST)

The in-form Origi should get a chance to lead the line again and cause problems to the Wolves defence.
